Raise Awareness for YOUR lighthouse with your own Limited Edition Postcards
Hello!
I'm Jake Heffernan from the Kewaunee Pierhead Lighthouse on Lake Michigan in Wisconsin.
A couple years ago I wanted a simple lighthouse collectable that was cheap to produce, easy to sell, and could raise awareness for our restoration. To fit the bill, I came up with these limited edition postcards and now I'd like you to be a part of it too.
The idea is simple - 100 beautiful 4x6 photo postcards are printed each year in a one-time run. When they arrive from the printer, each postcard is inserted into a plastic protective sleeve, then sold for $5 each. They can be shipped in a cardboard envelope or used in your lighthouse as an impulse buy.
Lighthouse passports are fun, but if you send the book in, you lose those stamps. This allows collectors to have a simple, annual souvenir to commemorate their visit to your lighthouse!
The more stations who participate in this program, the more awareness we can generate for the program as a whole and hopefully for all of our participants!
Note: If your group manages more than 1 lighthouse, you may create one postcard PER LIGHTHOUSE, per year.
Program Details
Each year, the process would look like this

Your group selects a photo for the face of your postcard. Do not repeat any photos. Photos used with this program should never be reproduced as postcards again.

Provide your lighthouse name for the face of the postcard. The font will be similar to what's pictured in the sample. Try not to use the word "Lighthouse" in the title. (Ex. I used "Kewaunee Pierhead, Wisconsin" instead of "Kewaunee Pierhead Lighthouse")

Decide on "Your Organization or Lighthouse Name" on back. Below that, the text will read "2026 Limited Edition" The font style will be similar to what's pictured in the sample.

Provide group or lighthouse logo for the stamp area

Provide web URL for lower right corner of back

Fill out the form below to begin the process of ordering your limited edition postcards

Kuehn Printing in Green Bay, WI will send you a proof of the design. With your approval, they'll print 100 postcards and ship them to your group. Only 100 of each group's unique design are printed annually. Payment is arranged directly with the printer.

Your group buys 100 4x6" plastic sleeves and places one postcard in each. I can send you the link to the sleeves I used.

Sell your Limited Edition Lighthouse Postcards for $5 each - with proceeds supporting your mission.
Make sure to let us know when your postcards are available - we'll add your name to the list of postcard locations!
If your 100 postcards cost $50 to print and ship and your organization sells them for $5 each, your profit will be $450 each year.
Kuehn charges $40 + shipping for your batch of 100 postcards. This includes the setup of your image and text according to the parameters of the program.
For additional revenue, consider printing "non-limited" postcards as well. This year for Kewaunee, I printed 2 additional photo postcards and sell them for $3 each or 2 for $5. One card is a reprint of a 1914 postcard of the newly built lighthouse. The second uses a 1953 photo of the railroad ferry "SS Badger" entering the harbor on her maiden voyage into Kewaunee.
